Pros And Cons of Teeth Whitening

Many times there are moments in our lives when we have to hide our mouth with hands to disguise what lies underneath, simply because we are afraid to show the condition of our teeth. It can really enhance our appearance if we have a nice white smile. This can be very helpful now and again in situations like job interviews or simply meeting new people. Yellow teeth may get very unpleasant after time and for our benefit there are many solutions to this problem. Most common options to select from are home whitening, dental whitening, dental cleanings, veneers. All of the listed procedures could be called teeth whitening, even though if you decide to get veneers for example, it got nothing to do with bleaching teeth.

For the sake of this article I am on short going to explain dental teeth whitening (in-office or professional whitening as some shall refer it to). It is as expensive as effective treatment to undergo, especially if choosing laser procedure which can cost over $1000. Dentists are just fans of people deciding to get their teeth whiter in dental office. Back in the 90’s, this was the only option. Laser teeth whitening is probably the favorite procedure amongst patients (sometimes called argon bleaching or power bleaching). One visit will take 60 minutes of your time to comlpete. Process is pretty simple: your teeth are covered with peroxide gel while laser light shines on it. This creates chemical reaction with a peroxide and completes the process. In six months you should make another appointment – a touch up if you will, or you will be given take home kits to do it at home by yourself.

The usual costs for dental whitening are betwen $500 and $1000, depending on the type of treatment you decide to undergo and location you live at. Costs for some of the home treatmens are from $50 to $100, professionaly dispensed take-home whitening kits costs up to $400.
